Becoming a mother can be joyful, transformative, profound and exquisite. It can also be exhausting, overwhelming, monotonous and depleting. At a time when all your energy is focused on nurturing your babe, taking care of yourself often slips down the priority list. You may have been so focused on the birth that you feel unprepared for what comes next. This workshop offers practical tools for nourishing yourself physically and emotionally using the mind-body wisdom of yoga and the game changing benefits of proper nutrition. We’ll move through a grounding and calming yoga practice, discuss ways to incorporate mindfulness techniques into your daily ‘routine’ and demystify healthy eating that will help your body heal and adapt and still give you energy when you need it most. There will even be snacks to sample. You’ll leave with some new ideas and stress-free tips, tricks and recipes that you can use immediately. Our time together will support you in taking precious care of yourself in a deep and meaningful way so that you can cultivate the inner resources you need to take precious care of your little one. This workshop is appropriate for pregnant women as well as new and not-so-new moms.
Clare has been teaching prenatal yoga in NYC since 2007 and mothering her son the best she knows how since 2010. Victoria is a certified holistic nutrition and health counselor. She’s a mom and private chef of 3 (soon to be 4!). Together they are passionate about supporting new moms in ways that are holistic and realistic in order to help make this huge life transition a little sweeter.
